About SPIRIT
Nearly four decades of community-led progress.
SPIRIT was founded in 1986 with a belief that lasting progress begins by giving people the tools to improve their own lives.
Today, that founding belief lives through our Home School Program in Karachi. We identify educated women with the ability and desire to teach who may not be able to pursue conventional employment outside their homes.
Their homes become classrooms. Children from underserved families receive foundational education close to where they live, without the cost and infrastructure of a conventional school.
Our mission
To expand access to education for underprivileged children while creating dignified, home-based economic opportunities for educated women.
Our vision
A future where every child has the opportunity to learn and every woman can use her abilities to contribute to her family and community.
“From home to home, neighborhood to neighborhood, community to community.”
